The flower picture shows a close up of a flower that is actually made up of many smaller flowers on an out of focus green background. I very much enjoy the flowers within the flower idea and it reminds me of how our world can be continually viewed on a smaller and smaller scale revealing new and unexplored detail. This idea of getting closer and delving deeper excites and intrigues me. When I look away the dots of white against the green really stick with me.
In the first picture, the close up of the mini, white flowers is attention-grabbing. The out of focus background is the next thing I notice. I still am able to notice that the flowers, although magnified, are pretty small compared to its environment. It gives a sense of fragility and caution. But it is also very beautiful. When I look away, I can still remember the little flowers vividly.
The second picture I see the Queens College waterfall that I pass by everyday. The image reminds me of feeling cool and not feeling so hot around it. It also brings me a type of calming feeling because on my breaks between classes I like to sit there and watch the fountain, which calms me down and in a way relieves some stress. When I look away I remember the blue-ness of the image and how calming it makes me feel.
